Prime Video is very shy this month, but there are still some interesting new releases this week including a big film and an anticipated series.
Prime Video is really starting the year timidly compared to Netflix, Disney+ or even Max. But despite that, every week there are a few new things. At the beginning of January for example, we will be treated to an action comedy and a series highly anticipated by fans, based on a manga that was a hit. There won’t be anything more, but it’s not so bad.
The Prime Video film of the week from January 6 to 12, 2025
There will therefore only be one film this week on Prime Video and it is French. The Gardener is an action comedy starring Michael Youn and Jean Claude VanDamme. The first plays the role of a poor guy with a bit of money who is going to find himself in a bad situation. VanDamme plays a part-time “gardener” who distributes potatoes. Kind of vegetarian John Wick, The Gardener promises to be relatively entertaining and promises as many gags as mandals. To see, in any case, it’s available this week on your SVOD platform.

The series of the week from January 6 to 12, 2025
On the series side, Prime VIdeo is also quite stingy this week with only one new release on the clock. It is nevertheless a series eagerly awaited by fans, Ubel Blatt. Adaptation of the eponymous manga, Ubel Blatt takes us into a dark fantasy universe in a kingdom torn by war and an evil power known as Wischtech. The manga is much more confidential than most big adaptations, but it has its share of followers, happy to see that the latter will have the right to a new adaptation. And it starts this week on Prime Video.
