After the official announcement of the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D processors, AMD revealed the arrival of the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards for Q1, that is to say, for the first quarter of 2025. The arrival of these new graphics cards will coincide with the availability of the AMD RDNA 4 architecture, as announced by Lisa SU. The RDNA 4 chips would be entrusted to TSMC and will benefit from a 4nm process.
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 :
AMD will also offer the FSR 4, the FidelityFX Super Resolution 4, which will only be compatible with this new generation of graphics cards, that is to say, initially, the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. One of the screenshots reveals several custom models offered by AMD partners, most of which have a cooling system made up of three fans. The power connector should remain unchanged, i.e., the “traditional” 8-pin.

-A simplification in the card reference:
AMD has made the logical choice to modify the reference of this new generation in order to easily identify the direct competitor in NVIDIA. Without yet knowing the performance of the next NVIDIA RTX 5000, AMD is offering a slide in order to position its two new graphics cards RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT.
This new 9070 series will therefore be positioned against NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 Ti and RTX 4070 Super and against the high-end AMD, from the previous generation, that is to say, the RX 7900 XT and RX 7900 GRE. The RX 7900 XTX should therefore remain the most efficient model in the AMD range, even if the latter will not benefit from FSR4.
The latter slide also allows us to highlight the upcoming arrival of a 9060 series with most certainly an RX 9060 and an RX 9060 XT. AMD seems decided, for the moment, not to be interested in the very high end and therefore to leave the field open to NVIDIA, with an RTX 5090, which looks, on paper, monstrous.
