Emma Stone reveals a new ultra short haircut at the 2025 Golden Globes, Nicole Kidman goes for volume

A wind of novelty was blowing over Emma Stone’s head, for this 82e edition of the Golden Globes. The actress, a regular at the ceremony, made a remarkable appearance on the red carpet with a unique haircut: she swapped her weavey usual red for a lovely pixie cut. This new hair highlights the fine features of her face and her light eyes, in addition to her head posture naturally highlighted by the bustier of her crimson dress signed Louis Vuitton.

As her fans were quick to point out, this outfit and this new face give her an ageless grace, perfect for the retro films with polished aesthetics in which she is used to shining – we naturally think of La La Landmusical candy by Damien Chazelle released in 2017. Capable of carrying the cruel and fanciful stories of Yórgos Lánthimos (as in 2019 already with The Favorite), the comic and dramatic intensity of Alejandro Gonzalez Iñarritu (Birdman), the perverse folie of Cruella or the sweetness of La La Landshe has become, in twenty years of career, an essential actress with sharp choices and assertive roles. Last year, she achieved a grand slam of awards (Bafta, Golden Globe and finally Oscar for best actress) for the gothic and sexual fable by Yórgos Lánthimos, Poor Creatures.

This year, the other hair demonstration at the Golden Globes came from Nicole Kidman, in a register diametrically opposed to that of Emma Stone: the interpreter of Babygirl opted for a maxi-volume, like an ode to Old Hollywood, with a very high, bouffant and ultra glamorous ponytail. With her Balenciaga draped backless illusion dress, she presented herself with an imperial allure.
