The Swiss was sensational during the Kranjska Gora slalom but had to admit defeat behind the Croatian Zrinka Ljutić, absolutely unbeatable. Camille Rast and Mélanie Meillard finished at the foot of the podium, 4th and 5th.
They were already masterful in the 1st round, but they were down in the second at Kranjska Gora on Sunday. In the end, Wendy Holdener had to admit defeat against the young Croatian star Zrinka Ljutić during the first slalom of 2025. But the duel remained exciting until the last hundredth.
The two skiers were tied after the first run, but it was Wendy Holdener who went first in the second. Not content with already having a 0″34 lead at the start, the Schwyz rider turned on all the turbos and delivered a real demonstration to cross the finish line with no less than 1’03 over the Swede Anna Swenn Larsson. A first victory in two years seemed almost certain. But that was without counting on Zrinka Ljutić who simply does not stop winning.
The Croatian thus signs her 2nd victory in a row after Semmering last weekend. As in Austria, Camille Rast finished just off the podium, 4th, ahead of Mélanie Meillard, 5th.
