The Cercle des ECO organized a round table under the theme “ePayment, forward inclusion!”, at the headquarters of the Horizon Press group. Participants included Karima Zouhairi, Personal Market Marketing Manager at Bank of Africa; Rachid Driouch, head of electronic banking and mobile payment expertise at Bank of Africa; Rachid Saihi, general director of the Interbank Electronic Payment Center (CMI), and Zouheira Belkrezia, Director of Tech and Digital Innovation of the Marjane group. The meeting was moderated by Meriem Allam, publishing director of the newspaper Les Inspirations ÉCO.
“E-payment is an element that drastically improves the user experience, whatever their category,” immediately affirms Rachid Saihi, general director of the Interbank Electronic Payment Center (CMI). To pay a tuition bill, a farmer, like an engineer or other, must physically travel, waste two hours, queue to honor his obligation. When he can set it at 2 a.m., 4 or 10 p.m., from Casablanca, London or Ouarzazate, it becomes an extraordinary customer experience. This saves time for both the customer and the receiving party.
With more than 20 million card holders, Morocco should end the year with 21 million. But the number of electronic transactions has not yet reached 20 million per month. The role of the CMI is to offer a wide range of solutions and tools, but it cannot impose anything on citizens. It is the latter who will choose, depending on their situation, their daily life, etc. All the details in this video.
