Olympique Lyonnais won this Saturday in pain against the red lantern from Hérault (1-0).
Lyon snatched a 1-0 victory in added time against Montpellier on Saturday at Groupama stadium at the end of a mediocre match on the 16th day of Ligue 1 that the Héraultais could have won. OL remain fifth in the standings, tied with Lille (4th, 28 pts) and two lengths behind Monaco and Marseille (which plays on Sunday). At the end of the match, Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette did not hide his disappointment at the microphone of DAZN. «I think we don’t deserve it (the victory). I think Montpellier deserves much better. But that’s part of football. Sometimes, when you don’t kill the match with your chances, the opposing team takes advantage. Good for us, we succeeded on this last opportunity to score but we cannot be satisfied with our match.
And to continue: “At the start of the season, we had a good series which ended against Paris, we really wanted to win this evening we restart with a victory but not as we wanted, in the game it is not satisfactory. It’s up to us this week to remobilize ourselves, to work well because we won’t be able to make 2025 like that with the hopes we have. If we show the same face as in October-November-December, we can aim for the first four places but if we play like today, we have no chance of aiming for anything…»
