With its new offer, DAZN, the “Netflix of sport”, hopes to convince new fans to subscribe for the second part of the League 1 season. The official broadcaster of the French Championship has in fact been offering, since 3 January and this for a month, an offer of 69 euros, or 13.80 euros per month until the end of May. When it was launched, DAZN offered a subscription with a twelve-month commitment at 29.99 euros. It then increased to 19.99 euros at the end of October. Finally, during Black Friday, an offer of 14.99 euros per month was offered, recalls The Parisian.

Ligue 1 ends on May 18, but this subscription allows you to have DAZN until the end of July, or 9.85 euros per month. Knowing that the Fifa Club World Cup, broadcast on DAZN, will be unencrypted and free, specifies The Parisian. The broadcaster is playing an important card here for its future and for its partnership with the Professional Football League (LFP).

Half a million subscribers

Indeed, if DAZN does not reach the milestone of 1.5 million subscribersthe broadcaster and the LFP will have to decide, on December 1, 2025, whether or not to activate the exit clause from the Ligue 1 broadcast contract for the period 2024-2029 at the end of next season. The LFP will then have to renegotiate with a new broadcaster. DAZN therefore has everything to gain from attracting new customers with its 69 euro offer. While its current number of subscribers is not precisely known, several sources claim that it would exceed 500,000.
