TESTIMONIALS – At a time when flying often remains the most economical option, they are trying to reconcile their convictions and their budgetary constraints. But they are not ready for all the sacrifices.
“I try to avoid traveling plane for what is purely leisure or tourism”explains Emma, a political science student. “For example, I only traveled to Copenhagen and Berlin by bus and train.” A compromise that is gaining ground among young people. In fact, three out of four of them agree with the idea that leisure flights must remain exceptional to limit their impact on global warming, according to a study conducted by Greenpeace in February 2022. Those who take the plane even say they are ready to change their behavior to reduce the impact of their travel on the environment: go less far (59%), travel more slowly (61%), favor less polluting modes of transport (63%) and even leave less often even if it means staying longer on site (75%).
