Significant amounts of rain are expected over the Morbihan these next few hours. The department was placed in yellow vigilance pour vent violent et rain-flood this Saturday January 4, 2025.

“A burst of rain crosses from Saturday January 4, 2025 afternoon and throughout the following night,” informs Steven Tual, meteorologist and founder of the Temps Breton account. Cumulative amounts of 30 to 40 mm are expected, particularly in the south and center of the region.

Significant rainfall totals expected

In a large part of Morbihan, “the rainfall totals are significant over 60 hours with locally up to 75 mm”, indicates Steven Tual. Flooding is feared in areas near rivers.

“The rainy episode continues on Sunday and until the morning of Monday when an additional 20 to 30 mm is forecast,” he specifies.

Due to the expected weather conditions, the services of Weather have placed Morbihan on yellow alert for rain-flooding from 3 p.m. this Saturday, January 4 and from 9 p.m. for strong winds.

The Morbihan prefecture recalls cautionary instructions

“Uncertainties surround the forecast of expected accumulations. The departments of Finistère and Morbihan, currently on yellow alert, are likely to see their alert color change,” indicated the services of the Morbihan prefecture on Saturday January 4, 2025 early in the morning.

The Morbihan prefecture is taking advantage of the placement on alert for strong winds to remind you of some precautionary instructions:

  • Store or secure objects sensitive to the effects of wind or likely to be damaged
