The Sochaux brand tends not to sell off its models. We understand the idea but, in these times when (more) accessible zero-emission models are finally arriving, it became urgent to react so as not to get caught up.
The electric Renault 5 is already doing well commercially, as is the Citroën ë-C3. So, if the Peugeot e-208 is still far ahead (more than 20,000 units sold in 2024 compared to less than 10,000 units for each of its new rivals), it would have been a shame for it to rest on its laurels. Its main fault which could work against it? A high price… which the manufacturer saw fit to lower at the start of 2025. A hell of a good resolution!
€6,100 reduction on entry level
Note that the entire range does not benefit from this boost. This only concerns the entry-level Style trim. The one with the smallest 136 hp engine and the 50 kWh battery having a correct range of 363 km. It remains well equipped since it is equipped with automatic air conditioning4 electric windows, a 10” touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility wireless. In a word, everything you want from a modern car. Its price? €28,000, compared to €34,100 previously.
It competes with the electric Renault 5 and the Citroën ë-C3
Thanks to this, she finally returns to the race. It’s 100 € more than the current Renault 5 entry-level with 120 hp engine and 40 kWh battery (311 km range).
-It is also barely more than the Citroën ë-C3 in its high-end Max finish but with an engine of only 113 hp and a range of 322 km with its 44.2 kWh battery. The e-208 suddenly becomes much more interesting.
She could do even better
Too bad but Peugeot could have taken advantage of it to apply this reduction to the rest of the range. With the 156 hp engine and the 54 kWh battery with more than 400 km of autonomy, we move on to a list price of €35,400 ! With its 150 hp engine and its 52 kWh battery having a similar range, the Renault 5 starts at €33,490…
