ARLES – Five people are being held hostage this Friday, January 3 at Arles prison (Bouches-du-Rhône), police and prison sources told AFP, confirming information from Provence.
An inmate with a bladed weapon detains four nursing staff and a prison guard, said the prison source, adding that the man had a “psychiatric profile”.
According to Provence and BFM Marseille Provence, the specialized intervention unit of the national police has been activated, a RAID team must arrive on site.
