The year 2025 starts with a sensational offer from Disney+ which offers its Standard subscription with advertisements at only €1.99 per month for one year. An unprecedented promotion which takes place in a context where the American giant is increasingly in difficulty in France.
An exceptional offer but with conditions
Disney+ is launching its biggest promotion ever offered in France: the Standard subscription with advertisements at €1.99 per month for 12 months, a saving of €48 over the year compared to the usual price of €5.99 monthly. This offer, available from January 3 to 21, 2025, is reserved for new subscribers and requires no commitment.
The subscription in question provides access to the entire Disney+ catalog in Full HD (1080p) quality with Dolby Audio 5.1 sound, but includes advertisements before and during content playback. Little tip: Junior profiles are free of advertisements, but only have access to content suitable for all audiences.
A strategy to compensate for the end of the partnership with Canal+
This promotion takes place in a particular context since Disney+ has left the Canal+ offers since January 1, 2025. This separation has several major consequences:

- Film distribution times after their theatrical release go from 6 to 17 months
- Disney+ must now directly convince French spectators
As David Popineau, head of Disney+ France, recently confided, the service remains confident about its future in France. Like other streaming services like Apple TV+ which is increasing original productions, Disney+ will probably have to invest more in French creation to convince the authorities to relax the media chronology. In the meantime, this offer at less than €2 per month represents an interesting opportunity to discover the service, provided you accept advertisements or are content with general content via a Junior profile.
