The Argentine club Belgrano will resume training this Friday, and will do so in groups to allow more comfortable discussions with the new coach, Walter Erviti.
However, it is not yet known whether striker Matías Suárez will be among those returning from vacation, as the former Anderlecht player did not renew his contract with Celeste d’Alberdi and is currently considered a free agent.
The club’s management have made him an offer, according to their statements, and a response is expected from the 36-year-old, who joined Celeste from River at the start of the 2024 season.
Fear of losing your place
Suárez knows that it will not be easy for him to earn a place in Erviti’s team, due to the strong competition in attack. Thus, the player will have to “start from behind” and prove that he deserves a place.
The idea of keeping Suárez linked to the club was proposed by a group of managers who consider he could be an important figure in the dressing room. Although there was not complete consensus, it was decided to make him an offer, but no agreement has yet been reached.
