In brief:
  • The American group Toto will give a concert at the Arena on February 15.
  • SCH and Gims perform in Geneva in January and February respectively.
  • Santana will play in Geneva in July at the Guitare en Scène festival.
  • Ed Sheeran will be in Zurich for two performances in August at Letzigrund.

Big names, big rooms. Who are the stars to listen to in 2025? Between Lausanne or Geneva, our necessarily subjective selection of concerts in giant or intimate format. At the Arena du bout du lac as in its cousin the Vaudoise, at the Docks as at the Usine, there is a plethora of artists on display during the coming year. We won’t hesitate, either, to take a quick trip beyond Sarine, to Zurich in particular, where the world’s superstars perform. The agenda, by style.

Rap

Rap to start. Julien Schwarzer, aka SCH, is at the top of the French scene. Grave tone, bitter words, dark inspirations, “zero love”, thriller universe, blood on the decks. The sad bearded man will say hello to us in winter, on January 22 at l’Arenain Geneva. Different atmosphere, same success? By losing his term “master”, Gims lost his rap. Objective: to attract the general public. We can smile at the title of his latest album, “The Last Wills of Mozart”. Her broad-spectrum pop is successful. Concert at the Arena again, February 7 for Gims. Another major date in the calendar of rap songs as we consume them today, Soprano on November 29 at the Vaudoise arena. Still want to do battle between four eyes? It will be at Usine then, the mecca of Geneva’s alternative culture, with Caballero & JeanJass, proud heralds of the Belgian scene, on March 8. Also remember, at the Docks on April 13, the visit of Dizzee Rascal, the father of “grime”, this English vein of rap that scratches and bangs. While waiting for the no less excellent Yamê, on December 13 at the Alhambra.

Rock

Rock is not dead. As proof, we want some beautiful remains to contemplate here or there, Pete Doherty with his Libertines at Festival Antigelon February 13 at the Lignon village hall, then solo on April 6 at the Alhambra; Toto at the Arena on February 15 (“I hurt the rains down in Aaafricaaa”). We hardly dare to put Indochina in the mix. For thrilled fans, meet at the Vaudoise Aréna for three evenings, on May 14, 16 and 17. A stone’s throw from rock, Cat Power appears as a poet, who covers everything Dylan with incredible talent, at the Théâtre de Beaulieu on June 22. Above all, Santana is announced on June 28 at Indoor stadium. The guitarist will also play at the gates of Geneva, on July 19 at the Guitare en Scène festival in Saint-Julien.

Pop

Is music still pop? In which case, Ed Sheeran remains the king, on August 2 and 3 at the Letzigrund in Zurich. Lake Zurich is pretty. Since we are already there, in the economic and cultural capital of the entire world of Switzerland, let us note this again: at the Hallenstadion on 1is May, it will be the turn of Tyler, The Creator, genius of contemporary hip-hop, to prove that he is a great artist. Other unmissable dates in Zurich: Kylie Minogue on July 6, Lionel Richie on July 12, before Jamiroquai on November 11.

Chanson

French-speaking side again. Two or three beautiful faces to come and admire. -M- also knows how to play the guitar. We will see him in his name at the Métropole room on March 8, then, at the end of 2025, on December 2 precisely at the Arena, with his African project Lamomali. Of course, we want Clara Luciani, her “Grenade” singer with a new style text, her explosive playing under the lightshow from the Arena on March 21. As for Michel Polnareff, the gentleman with glasses continues, promised with his “last tour”, at the Vaudoise arena on May 23. Mireille Mathieu has not said her goodbyes: sixty years of career, already!, to be celebrated at the Salle Métropole on November 16. One last one for the road? A voice of caramelized cauliflower, a mop of spaniel hair: it’s Julien Doré! At the Arena on December 3. Then we can rest until the following year.
