During the match against AS Saint-Étienne, counting for the 16th day of Ligue 1, the young 25-year-old goalkeeper expressed his desire to defend the colors of his country of origin, Senegal, a choice that he describes as deeply personal.

A former French international in the youth categories, Diouf made the decision to represent Senegal at senior level. Asked about his international career, he said he had a discussion with national coach Pape Thiaw before the November break. “I said I was ready to join the team, ready to come humbly and take any position. I am very proud to be able to get involved. It’s a choice of the heart, a choice that defines me,” explained the goalkeeper, measuring 1m88 and weighing 74 kg.

Yehvann Diouf explained that he considers himself both French and Senegalese, emphasizing the importance of his connection with the country of his ancestors. “I am as much French as I am Senegalese. Even if the connection is not exactly the same, because I grew up in France, I have often been close to my family there in Senegal. I had the opportunity to return there regularly, to visit, to meet my loved ones and to spend good times with them,” he said.
