If you only remember 2 pieces of information:
???? Two experiments, one concerning the RSA and the other concerning caregivers, will be generalized.
???? It is not certain that the minimum wage will increase at the start of 2025.

New for senior workers

A new experience enhancement contract (CVE) will replace the old senior permanent contract and will aim to facilitate the hiring of seniors. The system will be tested for 5 years in order to encourage the hiring of unemployed people aged at least 60, or 57 if a sector agreement stipulates it.

Another change to note for older workers: new unemployment insurance arrangements. Seniors will benefit from new age limits for longer compensation: 55 years for 22.5 months and 57 years for 27 months.

Help for caregivers

People who come to the aid of an elderly and/or disabled loved one will benefit from a new helping hand. The law of November 15, 2024 on neurodevelopmental disorders (TND) in fact perpetuates baluchonnage (or relaying at home). Concretely, this system consists of replacing the caregiver at home, over a long period of time, in order to allow them to breathe. The duration of the professional's intervention cannot exceed 6 consecutive days. In addition, professionals cannot carry out more than 94 days of interventions per period of 12 consecutive months.

Entry into force of the RSA reform

On January 1, 2025, the reform of active solidarity income (RSA) also comes into force. Recipients of this allowance will have to commit 15 hours per week to following training or receiving support in their procedures.

Towards a new increase in the minimum wage?

In November 2024, the Barnier government announced a 2% increase in the minimum wage in order to help the lowest-income households cope with the inflationary crisis. However, this measure came in anticipation of a possible increase on January 1, 2025. An article published by the newspaper L’Opinion on November 28, 2024 revealed that the group of experts on the minimum wage was hostile to any further increase in the minimum wage.

News regarding EPZs
