Among the list of qualified candidates for the title of professor and associate professor in 2024 of the State Council of Professors, the Polytechnic University (National University of Ho Chi Minh City) has just officially appointed 2 professors and 12 associate professors.

Among the 12 new associate professors appointed in 2024 at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, there are 10 octogenarians.

The youngest appointed associate professor is Dr. Le Vu Ha, born in 1987, Department of Chemical Engineering. Notably, Dr. Le Vu Ha was the valedictorian who graduated from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology in 2010.

Mr. Ha won the first prize of Vietnam Young Scientific Talent Award for speakers in 2012; Guide students in conducting scientific research projects which won first prize in the Vietnam Young Scientific Talent Award for students in 2011.

Associate Professor Dr. Le Vu Ha's two main research directions include the application of nanostructured materials to remove pollutants from water and the development of environmentally friendly methods to convert organic compounds.

Mr. Ha has completed 4 scientific research projects and published 53 articles in prestigious national and international journals. world. Of these, there are 30 articles in SCIE magazine, 5 articles in Scopus magazine and 18 articles in national magazines.

Two professors from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology were appointed: Mr. Mai Thanh Phong, director of the school and Mr. Truong Tich Thien, department of technical mechanics, faculty of applied sciences.

Mr. Mai Thanh Phong was born in 1972, from Duc Tho, Ha Tinh. To date, Associate Professor Dr Mai Thanh Phong has published 145 scientific articles, including 123 in prestigious international journals.

He has also obtained 2 patents for useful solutions and published 3 training books.

Associate Professor Dr Mai Thanh Phong's two main research focuses include chemical reaction techniques (reaction kinetics, chemical thermodynamics) and materials for chemical engineering processes (separation, absorption, catalysis).

Mr. Truong Tich Thien has completed 19 scientific research projects at all levels and published 158 articles in prestigious national and global journals and proceedings.
