Alpes-Maritimes start-ups are in the majority (10 out of 14) in the regional delegation which is preparing to fly to Las Vegas for the new global electronics show, CES 2025, which is taking place from January 7 to 10.
As every year, the South Region and its partners (Rising Sud, the metropolises of Nice Côte d’Azur and Aix-Marseille Provence, the agglomeration community of Sophia Antipolis) have selected companies with high potential in terms of innovation in order to that they present themselves to the hundreds of thousands of visitors to the international high mass.
Among them, the young companies from Nice, Sophia, Biot, Cagnes-sur-mer and Vallauris outnumber the companies from Bouches-du-Rhône, which are generally very present. This year, there are only four from the department (compared to nine out of 16 last year.)
Las Vegas CES 2025: Unistellar and Biomitech winners
Marseille will be represented by Unistellarthe “spacetech” which launched connected binoculars in 2024 to complement its range of telescopes and Optipus PV with its photovoltaic modules. The third representative of 13 is BiomiTech based in Arbois. Its air purification systems have won a CES Award. A trophy also won by Unistellar in the Technologies and accessories category.
But these prices cannot hide the small number of Provençal companies, particularly from the Technopole de l’Arbois, a major provider of start-ups at CES in recent years.
On the other hand, innovation is very dynamic on the Côte d’Azur, in particular in the town of Biot where part of the technology park is located. Sophia of Antipolis (see full list below).
Since 2017, the South Region and its partners say they have supported 236 companies at CES in Las Vegas and won 46 Innovation Awards.
