Pro Bowl: Patrick Mahomes is not selected

Nine Baltimore Ravens players, including two-time NFL MVP Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry, have been selected to the Pro Bowl.

The Detroit Lions follow with seven players, while the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles each have six players on the NFC roster.

Patrick Mahomes was not selected for the AFC for the first time since becoming the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs in his second season. Mahomes, named Super Bowl MVP three times and invited to the Pro Bowl six times, is not among the five Chiefs players selected. His teammate Travis Kelce was invited for the tenth time.

Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders is just the fourth rookie quarterback since 1970 to be selected to the initial Pro Bowl roster.

Detroit’s Jared Goff is the NFC’s starting quarterback and the Vikings’ Sam Darnold is also on the team. The AFC’s starting quarterback is Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills. Jackson and Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals are the backups.

Philadelphia’s Saquon Barkley, who became the ninth player to have 2,000 rushing yards, is the NFC’s starting running back.
