From January 1, 2025, Île-de-France will adopt a new transport fare structure for occasional users.
Two new single-fare tickets replace all previous options, and the Navigo Liberté + service extends to the entire region. For Valérie Pécresse, president of Île-de-France Mobilités, this reform marks progress in favor of social and territorial cohesion, while putting an end to tariff complexity which included nearly 50,000 combinations. “ it is a measure of regional cohesion, which will give the same freedom of movement and the same dignity to all residents, wherever they work. It is also a simplification measure which puts an end to the tariff maquis of nearly 50,000 tariffs ».
Simplified and equitable access for all Ile-de-France residents
Since 2016, Île-de-France has started a ticketing revolution. This approach made it possible to modernize transport tickets with dematerialized options accessible on smartphones and connected watches, to introduce the capping of origin-destination fares, and to launch the Navigo Liberté + service with deferred payment depending on usage. Three essential objectives guide this transformation:
- Social and territorial equity : offer a single price accessible to everyone, regardless of their location, in order to remove financial and geographical obstacles to the use of transport.
- Ecological commitment : encourage the use of public transport to reduce car traffic, with the ambition of reducing road traffic by 15% by 2030.
- Simplification : put an end to complex fare calculations based on departure and arrival points.
With this reform, around 3 million daily users of the bus, train and RER network will see their transport costs decrease.
Two tickets to simplify occasional trips
From January, occasional travelers will have only two fare options, replacing the 50,000 existing combinations:
- Metro-Train-RER Ticket : €2.50, valid on the entire rail network, including lines T11, T12 and T13 (excluding Orlyval).
- Ticket Bus-Tram : €2, usable on all bus, tram, coach, Noctilien and on-demand transport lines (excluding Orlybus and Roissybus).
These tickets offer free connections: up to 2 hours for Métro-Train-RER and 1h30 for Bus-Tram, with certain restrictions. They can be loaded onto a Navigo Easy pass, a smartphone or a connected watch.
Simplified access to airports and new offers for tourists
A specific ticket, Paris Region ↔ Airportswill be available at the price of €13, regardless of the departure point in Île-de-France, including Orlyval. In addition, the offer Paris Visit now allows unlimited access to the entire regional network, airports included, for €29.90 per day at full rate.
Titles removed for clarity
With this simplification, several existing titles disappear:
- The T+ and Origine-Destination tickets, as well as their booklets, give way to the new titles.
- The Navigo Jeunes Weekend will no longer be offered, its attractiveness being reduced in the face of the new prices.
- Long distance pricing and the T9 ticket, now superfluous, are also removed.
- The Navigo day packages are unified with a single price of €12 for unlimited use in all areas (excluding airports).
Navigo Liberté + extended to the entire region
Navigo Liberté +, available throughout the Ile-de-France network (excluding Orlyval), offers:
- An immediate reduction of 20% compared to unit prices.
- Post-payment, taken at the end of the month based on journeys made.
- Free connections between rail and surface networks during the same journey.
With this formula, journeys cost €1.99 for Metro-Train-RER and €1.60 for Bus-Tram at full price.
