The story in a few lines…
Lady is a young American Cocker Spaniel who lives a pampered life in a loving New England family. One Christmas evening, it is given as a gift to Darling by her husband Jim. Lady grows up in cozy comfort, but her quiet life is disrupted by the arrival of a baby in the family. Feeling a little neglected, Lady One day finds herself left to her own devices in the street.
It is then that she meets Clochardan endearing and independent bastard who lives on the streets and knows all the ins and outs of life outside of bourgeois comfort. Clochard takes Lady under his wing and shows him the joys and dangers of life as a stray dog. They share thrilling adventures, including a romantic scene where they eat spaghetti in an alley.
Their romance, however, is put to the test by several obstacles: the aunt Saraha cantankerous lady who hates dogs and who came to look after the baby, and her two mischievous Siamese cats, And et Amwhich cause trouble to Lady. Moreover, Clochard must face his own past and the threat of the pound.
Throughout their adventures, Lady et Clochard develop strong feelings for each other. Clochard proves her courage and loyalty by saving the baby from a rat, ultimately earning her the acceptance of her family. Lady. At the end, Lady et Clochard start a family and live happily together.
