It is one of the flagship shows of the 90s, and it is making a comeback. The Bigdilhosted again and again by Vincent Lagaf, returns almost completely identically on the small screen from January 2, 2025 on RMC Story. On the program, thirty issues, also with the presence of the PAF's most famous alien: Bill. To agree to take over the controls of the show, Vincent Lagaf had a few conditions. He wanted the same set, and the same team. “I wanted Gilles Vautier to come back”, assured Vincent Lagaf to the magazine Sat Cableavailable on newsstands since Monday December 30, 2024.

“It’s a real family”

Several years later, it's as if everyone had never separated, to the great pleasure of Vincent Lagaf. “The Bigdil is like a circus, it’s a real family, I needed my team from back then”, he explained. Speaking of which, the host made a big revelation. “There is even my son who is a camera operator on set,” he said. The only change to the show is that it will be broadcast in prime time and no longer daily.

Why does Vincent Lagaf no longer want a daily newspaper for Le Bigdil?

For Vincent Lagaf, a daily one would be too hard to cope with. “I’m no longer old enough”he confided to our colleagues. “I have good health, but I am in a pitiful state. I have forty-one pieces of scrap metal in my body, half a lung missing,” he continued. “I would still like viewers to say to themselves: 'physically, he hasn't changed too much, and in his head, he's still the same kid'”, he concluded. The host also clarified that this time, he had agreed to take over the reins of the show only because the production had provided the means. “In twelve years I have been offered it four times”, he said. “Each time I refused (…) I would have had a hard time being told in the street: 'it was better before'”, he confided. “I found the Bigdil as I loved it and as I created it. I couldn't dream of anything better. If we manage to make a hit with this thing, I don't know if I'll do anything else thing after that.”
