André Frére Éditions : Joanna Szproch : Everyday fantasy

Output to André Frére Éditions from the book of Joanna Szproch titled Everyday fantasy (fantasy in everyday life). It is accompanied by these words:

The book is an ode to sexual autonomy and celebrates female sensuality. A courageous debut work that focuses on the quest for empowerment and questioning patriarchal structures.

Joanna Szproch has created more than just one remarkable piece of her biography. Alltagsfantasie is a multi-layered self-portrait. Patrycja, a young model, takes on the role of the artist’s alter ego.

“I penetrate with curiosity my infinite Alltagsfantasie which resonates with my true self. This allows me to live authentically despite illusory appearances. Life is a miraculous mystery. » – Joanna Szproch

It is possible to be a muse, a model and a creator at the same time. And yet we fail because we cannot look at ourselves objectively. It is precisely in these intermediate worlds of the “female gaze” and the “male gaze”, the boundaries between self and outside, that Szproch explores his Alltagsfantasie. Here, she defies society’s draconian norms and satisfies its needs and desires without compromise.

“Everything Polish women do is subject to constant public scrutiny. We are denied the right to pleasure and joy. I reject this intuitively, but I also reject the feminine martyrdom which weakens me. » – Joanna Szproch

In 2012, Joanna Szproch left Poland. In Berlin, she wanted to escape the misogynistic and conservative corset of her strictly Catholic homeland, to be free. But six years after the social outcry of the #metoo movement, anti-feminists continue to claim that rape is not a crime against women, but against property. Szproch is fighting the dysfunctional system of patriarchy a fight that still needs to be fought in society and in daily life to bring about change.

“Some say I have my head in the clouds. For me, this is absolutely true. Live your fantasy and don’t be fooled by illusions. » – Joanna Szproch
