The new Netflix series adapted from a novel by Harlan Coben, “Missing You”, is now available. And it seems destined to be one of the biggest hits of the start of the year.
Missing You has arrived on Netflix
Since Harlan Coben signed a deal with Netflix in March 2018, the streaming platform has the possibility of adapting 14 of his novels. It is in this context that the series Intimidation or even Don’t walk away were launched. And, since this Wednesday 1is January 2025Netflix subscribers can discover the new series adapted from a book by the author: Missing You.
The main protagonist of Missing You East Kat Donovan, a detective whose fiancé Josh has disappeared eleven years earlier. As she tries to rebuild her life, Kat see Josh’s face one day on a dating site. Upsetting her certainties, this discovery will force the inspector to dive back into the mysterious death of his father. And will bring out distant secrets from his past.
Rosalind Eleazar headlines
Composed of five episodesthe new Netflix series is carried by Rosalind Eleazar. The latter is best known for being the interpreter of Louisa, one of the main protagonists of Slow Horses. By his side, Ashley Walters plays Josh in Missing You.
-Richard Armitage is also in the credits of the series. He is a regular in Harlan Coben’s adaptations, having already appeared in Intimidation, Don’t walk away et Double trap. This time he plays Ellis Stagger, Kat’s boss.
One of the most viewed series at the start of the year?
We can bet that Missing You sera one of the big hits at the start of the year on Netflix. Because Harlan Coben’s adaptations generally attract a large number of subscribers. The last to have been revealed, Double trapeven went so far as to enter the top 10 of the most viewed English-language series on the streaming platform.
In addition to this, Harlan Coben said last September, during an interview with Digital Spythat the story of Missing You was perhaps his most “captivating”. And he assured that the outcome of the Netflix series surprised him. Words which are enough to intrigue fans of his works and encourage them to discover this new adaptation. We would therefore not be surprised to see the show quickly enter Netflix’s top 10. And stay there for a while.
