A vehicle drove into a crowd in New Orleans, United States, killing at least 10 people and injuring around thirty people early Wednesday, January 1, according to the city's police. The incident occurred at the corner of Canal and Bourbon Street, on the edge of the American city's French Quarter.
“The city was hit by a terrorist attack”said Mayor LaToya Cantrell during a press briefing. “This man tried to run over as many people as possible. He wasn't a drunk driver, it's more complex”also added the police. The FBI, responsible for continuing the investigation, nevertheless assured immediately that it was not a question “not a terrorist attack”, while specifying that explosives had been found at the scene of the incident. The suspect also opened fire on police officers, injuring two officers. The police did not specify whether he was on the run or arrested. Follow our live stream.
