Andrea Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner moderated the ZDF New Year’s Eve show “Welcome 2025”. A faux pas by Kerner caused hilarity.
The ZDF New Year’s Eve show “Welcome 2025” once again offered the audience a lot of entertainment. Andrea “Kiwi” Kiewel and Johannes B. Kerner led the evening. An amusing incident occurred.
During an interview with Sarah Engels, Kerner made a small faux pas. “Der Westen” reports that he suddenly bit his tongue.
He visibly flinched and took a step back. The presenter seemed worried that he had said something wrong. But Engels quickly reassured him.
She confirmed that she was already allowed to talk about her involvement in “Holiday on Ice”. This made presenter Kiwi laugh.
Another entertaining moment occurred when Andrea Kiewel was sent into the audience. According to “Listen” she should dance with the audience.
At first no one seemed to want to dance with her. “Johannes, I’m completely ashamed, nobody wants to dance with me,” complained Kiewel. However, it turned out that she had misunderstood a viewer.
After the misunderstanding was cleared up, there was a spontaneous dance performance. People danced to the viral hit “Barbara’s Rhubarb Bar”.
The show featured a mix of music, celebrity guests and spectacular fireworks. As the “Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger” reports, Marcus & Martinus, Nemo and Maite Kelly were among those there.
A special highlight was the appearance of Johnny Logan. The three-time ESC winner brought international flair to the stage at the Brandenburg Gate.
The event ended at 12:45 a.m. It offered the audience a lot of entertainment for four hours at the turn of the year.
Andrea Kiewel has moderated the ZDF “Fernsehgarten” since 2000. As “Express” reports, her career started on GDR television.
The presenter is known for her direct manner. This occasionally brings her criticism. Nevertheless, she remains a popular figure on German television.
