Six road accidents
There was no shortage of collisions and the effects of drunk driving during this night of celebration. “We have recorded six markings, which means that there have been six road accidents.”specifies Captain Filippi, who lists the facts without having access to more information.
“On the R5, in Jemappes, a person fell asleep at the wheel, drunk. But he was not injured. On the E19 motorway, in Obourg, another accident took place, with injuries in this case – there. And in Dour, another person was injured in a car accident.”
Less alarming and engaging events for firefighters took place in the central region. In Houdeng, a vehicle hit others parked on the path of Familleureux. And on the national road which leads from Mons towards Beaumont, near Rouveroy (Estinnes), a car ended up in the ditch. To return to Mons, a vehicle, the only one involved, left the road, in the small inner ring, on the Warocqué roundabout. 20 firefighter missions were also recorded, sometimes for false alarms.
