Berlin police arrested a man on Tuesday who attacked and injured several people in the Charlottenburg district.
Two people were taken to hospital as officers continue to interview witnesses. Reached by telephone, Berlin police said they did not yet know precisely how many people had been injured.
“Shortly before midday, emergency services were called to Charlottenburg because a man had allegedly injured several people, apparently with a knife.”indicated the police on the social network
According to several Berlin media, man allegedly randomly attacked people inside and outside of store. Several passers-by then jumped on the attacker and overpowered him until the police arrived.
Charlottenburg is a normally quiet district of the German capital.
Germany is still in shock the car-ramming attack which left five dead and more than 200 injured in the Christmas market in the city of Magdeburgin the east of the country, on December 20. A Saudi doctor was arrested on murder charges in connection with the case.
