In the unusual category…

A few stories attracted attention during the year, two in particular.

The first happened on Thanksgiving evening. A 29-year-old man saw his car run out of gas on Route 112, near the Joseph-Dion intersection in Granby. The problem is that he was arrested for driving impaired by drugs and… for receiving a vehicle!

The second unusual story of the year is that of a driver in Sainte-Cécile-de-Milton who, on November 10, was caught driving at a speed of 130 km/h in an 80 zone. She handed her papers to the police officer when she was to receive a ticket amounting to $864, accompanied by 10 demerit points.

Her driving license was supposed to be suspended for a period of seven days, but now she decides to flee.

The police officer still having his papers in hand, decided to follow her to her house. She finally received a higher report and a report was issued to the DPJ since a minor child was in the vehicle.

Speed is often a cause of arrests in the area.
