The Montreal Canadiens announced on Saturday that they had submitted goalkeeper Cayden Primeau to waivers in order to transfer him to the Rocket.

Coach Martin St-Louis confirmed the news on Friday, after announcing the recall of Jakub Dobes from the Habs’ farm club.

The Canadiens gave Primeau a vote of confidence by letting Jake Allen leave last season, but the 25-year-old goaltender has failed to live up to expectations this season.

In 11 games, he has only two victories and has an efficiency rate of .836 as well as a goals against average of 4.70. The American has not started a game since December 1st.

In 55 matches in the NHLhis statistics are only slightly better: he displays an efficiency rate of .884 and allows an average of 3.69 goals per game.
