The Vannes players traveled this Saturday, December 28 to the pitch of the Pau Section, the penultimate of this Top 14, for a 13th high-risk day. Finally RC Vannes lost heavily again 48 to 24 against Pau and remained bottom.
“This is perhaps Vannes' least successful match this seasonnotes Thibault Debaes, the opener of Vannes. “We focused on the start of the match because we thought Pau would do the same and that it would be important. We stayed on plan for 10 to 15 minutes. Then we moved away from it and Pau seized the opportunities.”
“The two tries at the end of the first half gave us a headache. We lost the little kicking battles.”
Pau scored 6 tries against 3 for the Morbihannais.
“We stuck to the plan, advances Beka Gorgadze, the captains of Pau. We had trouble executing it at the start of the match, we couldn't get the ball. But over time, our occupation game gave us opportunities. When we put the speed on, we had the opportunities.” With the six tries and the offensive bonus,: “The mission is accomplished.”
The Béarnais thus gave themselves a little margin with 9 points ahead of Vannes. Perpignan is the new 13th in the championship with 19 points, compared to 15 for RC Vannes.
