The operation to decompress the intracranial hematoma from which Cyprien Sarrazin “went well”, announced the French Ski Federation (FFS) on Saturday, cited by AFP. The day before, the French downhiller had fallen heavily during the last training session of the Bormio downhill, under the horrified gaze of those present. But in the finish area, most of the skiers had reflexively looked away, not wanting to see (or see again on the screen) the Frenchman’s terrible flight.. This is particularly the case of Marco Odermatt and Justin Murisier.
We don’t want to keep these images in mind, Murisier said of his reaction. “We don’t want to see this kind of thing. I want to take away positive impressions for the race”for his part explained Odermatt, then adding that he could still imagine what had happened.

Just the day before, the two Swiss had analyzed the Frenchman’s first training descent together. They were impressed by Sarrazin’s tight line choice and the stability of his skis despite the risk. But at the place of its fall, the traditionally icy surface of Bormio had changed its nature. As in other areas of the formidable Stelvio, the snow became very aggressive from one meter to the next, which several skiers complained about, citing a health risk.
We do not yet know if this is the reason why Cyprien Sarrazin fell, but we can imagine the relief of all those who saw his accident at the announcement of the reassuring news communicated this Saturday by the French Federation.
According to Eurosportfurther news on the state of health of the descender should arrive during the day this Saturday, while the World Cup event is scheduled to begin at 11:25 a.m. (jcz/rso)
