This is what we read on the official Lega B website:
Boxing Day closes the first round of the Series BKT 2024/25with all the races scheduled throughout the day, including the top-ranking challenges Pisa-Sassuolo at 12.30 and with it Spice which receives the Mantua. Boxing Day in B, present since 2012/13, has always been a day of celebration with a large audience in the stands: in the last two years it has always exceeded 100,000 spectators, making it one of the most watched days on TV of the season. Besides England and the BKT Series there is only one other league where they play on boxing day in Europe, the Jupiler league in Belgium.
Il Sassuolo comes to this match having won the last seven championship games. The Emilian team has gained 43 points after the first 18 matches of the season and could become the first to exceed this quota after the first 19 Serie BKT matches in two different seasons in the three points per win era (the other in 2012/13 , 45 points after 18 matches). On the other hand, the Pisa they remained unbeaten in all nine matches played in front of their fans in the current cadet tournament and, in the era of three points for a win (since 1994/95), they have never managed to remain without defeat in the first 10 home matches of the season. ù
Cesena e Cremonese they compete in search of the three fundamental points to continue to remain in the top areas of the rankings. The Bianconeri, who have lost three of their last four Serie BKT games (1W), want to secure their seventh home victory in 10 home matches played this season. It happened on two other occasions in the three points for a win era: seven in 1995/96 and eight in 2015/16. On the opposite front, the Grigiorossi have lost only one of their last five away matches in the second division (W2, D2), keeping a clean sheet in the two most recent ones against Südtirol (4-0) and Cittadella (0-0).
At the same time in Cesena-Cremonese, five other matches are taking place. The Spice hosts the Mantua hoping to gain points against the two direct contenders for promotion, Pisa and Sassuolo, engaged in the direct clash. In fact, the Ligurian team is one of the two, along with Sassuolo, which has won the most points in home matches in this BKT Series (22 for both, but in eight home games for the Aquilotti, one less than the neroverdi), while the Matchday opponents have only picked up four points away from home in this tournament, at least one less than any other team.
The Salernitana is going to visit the Frosinone at the “Stirpe”, in a match between two teams that played in Serie A last season and are now fighting to stay in Serie BKT: in fact, the Campania team occupy 16th position in the standings, while the gialloblù are actually last, with only three wins achieved in the first 18 matches of this championship (7N, 8P).
The day's program continues with Brescia-Modenaa match that has been played on 80 occasions in Serie BKT, 11 more than any other. The precedents in this case smile on the Lombards, ahead with 35 victories against the 21 of the Emilians (24 draws complete the picture).
Always at 3pm, Catanzaro e Cosenza they face each other in the long-awaited Calabrian derby: the Giallorossi team has lost only one of the 14 previous Serie BKT matches against the Wolves (5W, 8D) and among the teams against which it has lost at most one match in the second half, Cosenza is the one faced several times.
Finally, to close the 3pm programme, Reggiana e Juventus Stabia they meet for the third time ever in the cadet tournament, the first after the two matches in the 1951/52 season, in which the two teams won once each, while South Tyrol e Citadel they compete in a balanced match looking at the four previous matches in the division: one success for each side and two draws.
In the late afternoon race, the Palermo receives the Bari at the “Barbera” at 6.30pm, in a match in which they remained unbeaten on all the last seven occasions in Serie BKT (4W, 3D): in fact, against no opponent, the rosanero boast the longest open unbeaten streak between those currently present in the tournament (seven, as against Mantua and Modena).
Finally, at 8.30 pm, the Carraresefresh from the 1-0 success against Cosenza, thanks to which he collected the 10th 'clean sheet' of the current championship, goes to Marassi to challenge the Sampdoriaunbeaten in the two matches with the new coach Leonardo Semplici on the bench (2N).
