SIENA, TORCH PROCESS AND FLASH MOB OF BEKO WORKERS

This afternoon, starting at 5pm, Beko workers demonstrated in the streets of Siena with a procession and a torchlight procession, starting from Piazza Duomo. The initiative is part of the protests against the dispute involving around 300 company employees, whose employment future is at risk by the end of 2025.

The procession, symbol of the fight to protect jobs, ended with a flash mob in Piazza Salimbeni. Here the workers wanted to draw the attention of citizens and institutions to their delicate situation.

Present at the torchlight procession in support of the Beko workers, in addition to the local political institutions, the mayor of Siena Nicoletta Fabio reiterated the municipal administration's full support for the mobilization. “Even today we were alongside the Beko workers, who with strength and determination are carrying out their mobilization to defend their jobs”, he declared.

Fabio praised the unity shown by the workers, calling it an example of resistance. He also assured that the Municipality of Siena will continue to keep a high level of attention on the dispute, working with the institutions to identify concrete solutions that safeguard jobs and the economic fabric of the area.

“Let's not leave these families alone. Let's continue to fight together with you”, he concluded, confirming the city's commitment to protecting workers' rights.
