Rome, Paredes: “I'm not talking about Dybala. I went through two difficult months but now I'm happy”

Leandro Paredes, Roma midfielderanalyzed the 5-0 victory over Parma in this way in the press conference: “I try to train as best as possible. He definitely gave me the confidence I needed the moment he arrived. I only have words of thanks for him and I hope to continue like this, still giving my contribution to the team.”

Has Roma found its identity?
“Definitely, but in every sense, I think we played a great match today. We suffered little, perhaps just a few counterattacks, but otherwise I think we played as we should. It was the match we had to play, especially after the one against Como, so we are really happy.”

What happened on the penalty?
“The free kick, before kicking, wanted to score a hat-trick, so he kicked it. When he scored the second goal, he came over and told me to kick. I take this opportunity to thank him.”

Would you be willing to renew with Roma? Are you afraid that Dybala might leave in January?
“I can't say anything about him, because there are other players, other teammates, and I never talk about what they can do. Obviously, we who belong to Real have a player of the highest level, so every day, in every training session and match, we try to give our best. For me, I have always lived my life and career day by day, and I will continue to do so here. I'm happy, really happy to be in Rome, I'm playing a lot and we're doing well, so I will continue to live my life in this way.”

Do you feel like you have evolved as a player after being coached by De Rossi?
“Yes, I always try to keep learning, I think that in football you never stop learning. I was lucky enough to have Rossi as a teammate and then as a coach, and he taught me a lot. He is a player who has had an extraordinary career in that role, so I have always tried to take advantage of his experience. Today Ranieri is giving me the same trust that he gave me, so I'm really happy and I hope to continue on this path.”

Do you feel like a leader of this group? Are you already thinking about the derby?
“I have always felt like an important player in this Roma team. When I arrived, my coach and my teammates immediately made me feel part of the team. Obviously, with Mourinho, Daniele and now with Ranieri, I feel even more involved, but in general I have always felt important for this team and I hope to continue like this. As for the derby, as I just said, I live my career and my life day by day, so let's think about Milan first.”

What is Soulé missing? Can he take Roma?
“Yes, I certainly have no doubts about this, because he played in the first teams, he is very young and will certainly have a lot to learn alongside Paulo. He can learn a lot and I'm sure he will do very well in Rome.”

Was there a moment when you thought the bond with Rome might break?
“I've had a very, very difficult two months. For me and my family, what I was experiencing wasn't easy at all, because I had come from two seasons in which I always played. Not playing even a minute was really difficult, but I continued to work hard to improve, and now that the situation has changed I feel very happy.”
