The Norwegian winning streak continues in that year Le Grand Bornandthird stage of the Biathlon World Cup: after missing the victory in the sprint by just 1.4'', Johannes Thingnes Boe he takes his revenge in today's pursuit, thanks to an almost perfect shooting performance (0+0+0+1) and his usual spatial pace on skis. Beautiful comebacks of character by the two leading Frenchmen, Eric Perrot (2°) ed Emilien Jacquelin (3rd), who today achieved two important podiums, supported by the many fans present in the stands. Sturla Lægreid and Vebjorn Sørum were off the podium, while Uldal, winner of the sprint, collapsed. The best Italian at the finish line is Thomas Giacomel who, despite five shooting errors, managed to finish with a good 11th place finish; in the 20s too Luke Hofer.
After a start to the season with few victories under his belt, Johannes Thingnes Boe is returning to string together successes with frightening continuity. Today the Norwegian champion never gave his opponents the chance to annoy him, with very stable shooting percentages and optimal effort management. For him it is the 88th World Cup victory in his career, very close to Ole Einar Bjørndalen's record (95 victories). Behind him is the home favorite Eric Perrotwho started with bib number 7, won his fifth podium of his career and the second of his season, at the end of a finally convincing performance both in shooting (20 out of 20) and on skis. We'll take care of completing today's podium Emilien Jacquelinwhich scores the best shooting time but pays a little for the two shooting errors in the standing ranges; however, this is the third individual podium of the season for the Frenchman.
Still a few too many errors for the Italians, who however also achieve good performances: the best Italian is Thomas Giacomel11th and 1:40.8 behind Boe. The athlete from Trentino paid the price above all for the two opening errors on the ground, which certainly forced him into an uphill race straight away. Luke Hofer he confirmed himself to be quite constant in his shooting, obtaining a more than positive 85%, and this allowed him to still finish in 20th position at the finish line. Much more complex day for Didier Bionazwith a 70% shooting which only earned him 45th position. Daniele Cappellari closes his racing weekend in 54th position.
