A woman and her 13 year old son with disabilities were hit this afternoon in via Enrico de Nicola a Milan – in the Barona area – by a 61-year-old of Egyptian origin who did not stop to help.
The woman, 39 years old, and the boy were taken to hospital under yellow code and their conditions they are not serious.
According to what emerged from the first investigations by the local police, mother and son they were crossing on the pedestrian crossing when a car, a gray small car, suddenly hit them, causing them to fall to the ground and destroying the 13-year-old's wheelchair.
The man driving, after the impact, he would have stopped to look closely at the woman lying on the ground, thrown a few metres, and immediately after he would get back behind the wheelwalking away quickly. There The teenager's pram was destroyed while the car suffered some dents due to the impact. Mother and son were transported under yellow code to the Niguarda hospital.
Traced shortly after, thanks to cameras and witnesses, the 61-year-old was arrested by the local police for injuries and negligence.
The motorist was found around 4pm at his home not far from via Enrico de Nicola. He tested negative in the alcohol test he was subjected to by the officers. The teenager reported a 3-day prognosis for minor abrasions while his mother, also Egyptian, had a fractured pelvis and a lesion on the face under the eye. The woman will be operated on Monday.
