The recent live-action film Ghostbusters: Ice Menace grossed $201.9 million worldwide, while also leaving the door open for other stories. Netflix and Sony have not revealed whether the animated series in development will resume the narrative after the film or whether it will propose new events. The only detail confirmed for now is that it will be a 3D animation.
The Netflix project will be the third animated series inspired by the Ghostbusters saga after The real ghostbusters, which aired for 140 episodes on ABC from 1986 to 1991, which continued the adventures of the protagonists of Ivan Reitman’s films.
