The little girl is fighting for her life in hospital in Careggi. The parish priest: «We are saddened»
They were supposed to get married in the next few months, Matteo Racheli and Margarida Alcione. They had already expressed their wish to the parish priest of San Felice a Ema, Don Floriano Donatini, who had baptized the little girl now fighting for her life in hospital. «We are saddened, I had always met them with their children in happy moments, I remember above all Margarida’s great energy». A great energy also confirmed by the principal of the Galluzzo comprehensive institute Maria Teresa Frassetti: «The little girl is now in first grade. Mum was a very jovial person and always very helpful. We hope that at least the little girl can be saved.” The Racheli’s first son, Elioinstead he went to middle school in the municipality of Poggio a Caiano.
They lived in one villa immersed in the Tuscan countrysidebetween the church of San Felice a Ema and the Poggio Imperiale boarding school, in the midst of olive groves and vineyards, one of which they own. A quiet area, among the most beautiful in Florence, with an enchanting view of the hills. They had been living here for a few years, with her daughter. Together with the three of them, there was often also Matteo’s eleven-year-old son, Elio, with his ex-wife, who raised the alarm yesterday since she hadn’t heard from her son and ex-husband for many hours. They were animal lovers, and in fact owned a dog and a cat. As a job, they mainly dealt with apartment rentals. A villa bordering another villa, the one in which they lived, a very large and comfortable house, with a large garden. «Margarida was always a cheerful person – they say from the recreational club of San Felice a Ema – she came here almost every day with the little girl to give her a snack».
In shock i family members which followed one another in the villa yesterday, including Racheli’s ex-wife and Elio’s motheras well as the cousin of the man who rushed from Brescia towards Florence. In the late afternoon, some relatives of the victims also arrived, two women entered the private road that leads to the house where, in addition to rescuers, firefighters and law enforcement, there was also the president of District 3, Serena Perini.
The victims were remembered in the evening by the mayor Sara Funaroon the sidelines of the Christmas greeting ceremony to the city: «This is a moment of pain because there has been a tragedy in our city, in an apartment where a couple and a child are no longer there and a little girl is in serious condition .
