She fired on her classmates and teachers, then turned the gun on herself and fired the shot that killed her. Natalie Rupnowknown by the name Samantha, is the main suspect in the shooting at Abundant Life Christian School in Madisonin which a student and a teacher died. The 15-year-old girl also attended a private Christian school in Wisconsin and died on the way to the hospital in an ambulance.

Rupnow carried out the fatal shooting inside a study hall full of students from different classes. The alarm was raised by an 8-year-old boy who called 911. An alleged manifesto containing radical and hateful opinions emerged online, but the police are verifying its authenticity. Investigators have yet to establish the motive behind the shooting, but can say with certainty that the 15-year-old had planned the massacre in advance. On the Discord social network, before firing, Rupnow published a photo directly from the school bathrooms, in which he makes the “ok” symbol with his fingers.
The shooting
The police received an emergency call at 10.57am local time, 5.57pm in Italy, and when they arrived at the scene they found the killer dying.
The weapon used, a 9 mm pistol, was also found. In the tragedy, the luck was that the medical personnel of the Madison police were carrying out an exercise right near the school and therefore managed to arrive in record time. “They left the center immediately and rushed here, immediately putting into practice what they were studying,” explained Barne. The shooting in Madison comes less than two weeks after another tragedy in a Christian school in California where, fortunately, the toll was only two children injured and the attacker killed by suicide. But these latest two incidents of violence add to at least 403 other mass shootings in the United States this year, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines a ‘mass shooting’ as an event in which at least four people are shot, not including the perpetrator. In September, a fourteen-year-old armed with an assault rifle he received as a Christmas present shot dead two students and two teachers at his school in Georgia, a case that shocked the United States also because the father was eventually arrested and charged who had made the weapon available to him. A fact that is becoming increasingly common in the United States, where 80% of the weapons used by students in mass shootings are taken from the homes of family or relatives and friends.
