Mykhailo Mudryk tested positive in a doping test. This was announced on Chelseathe club where the Ukrainian striker plays. Born in 2001, the former Shakhtar player has been provisionally suspended by the Association. In the season he was fielded 15 times by Enzo Maresca, scoring 3 goals, all in the Conference League. Here is the full note from the London club: “Chelsea Football Club can confirm that the Football Association has recently contacted our player Mykhailo Mudryk regarding a positive result in a routine urine test. Both the club and Mykhailo fully support the FA’s testing program and all our players, including Mykhailo, are tested regularly. Mykhailo categorically confirmed that he had never knowingly used prohibited substances. Both Mykhailo and the club will now work with the relevant authorities to establish what caused the positive result. We can add that Mudryk has been provisionally suspended by the FA. The club will make no further comment.”

Mudryk: “Total shock, never done anything wrong”

Mudryk himself commented on the incident with a post on Instagram: “I can confirm that I have been informed that a sample I provided to the FA contained a banned substance. It was a total shock, because I have never knowingly used banned substances or broken any rules and I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened. I know I haven’t done anything wrong and I continue to hope to be back on the pitch soon. I can’t say anything else at this time due to the confidentiality of the trial, but I will do so as soon as possible.”
