On Monday, December 16, 2024, President Bola Tinubu congratulated Super Eagles striker Ademola Lookman on winning the 2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year.
He also congratulated Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie for winning the CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year award and the Super Falcons for being named the National Women’s Team of the Year.
The awards were announced Monday evening at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, Morocco.
The President joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating these athletes. He described them as worthy ambassadors to showcase their talent and bring honor to the country on the continental and global stage.
Tinubu believed that this recognition by the highest authority in African football will inspire other emerging athletes to remain determined to pursue their dreams.
He said their determination, discipline and confidence underscore the administration’s determination to build a better Nigeria where everyone thrives and succeeds.
