Photo of two snow leopards wins first prize
The “Nature Photographer of the Year” announced this Saturday the winners of this year’s different categories. In the “mammals” category, Italian photographer Paolo Della Rocca won this prize with his photo entitled “Games Between Siblings”. He photographed two snow leopards having fun in India, on the snow-covered Himalayas.
This photograph also earned him the most prestigious award, namely that of “Nature Photographer of the Year 2024”. The technique, the moment taken, the decor, as well as the behavior of the two felines, make this photo a true masterpiece for photo lovers.
Twelve other prizes were awarded
Many other awards were won in different categories. In that of “man and nature”, it was the Briton Aaron Gekoski who won this distinction. With his photo “My Pet Tiger”, he denounces animal trafficking, particularly that of big cats in Pakistan.
The “black and white” category was also won by a British photographer. Paul Goldstein with his photo “Cross to Bear” immortalizes a moment of the Great Wildebeest Migration, which crosses the Mara River, a waterway located in Tanzania and Kenya.
A Frenchman among the winners
In the “other animals” category, a French photographer won the prize. Indeed, Sébastien Blomme, an animal photographer specializing in macro photography of insects, photographed a pinnate empuse, close to the praying mantis, in his photo entitled “Disturbing Shadow”.
In the other categories, there was “nature of Lage Landen”, which focuses on the Netherlands and Belgium; “animal portraits”; “natural art”; “birds”; “underwater world”; ” landscape ” ; “plants and mushrooms”; “portfolio” and “young photographer” which rewards a young person aged 11 to 17.
