an urgent call to save their study cycle

A group of 70 scholarship students from GOC University sounds the alarm. These young people, having benefited from a government scholarship to access higher education, today find themselves in a critical situation. Indeed, despite initial assurances, they find themselves with their backs against the wall, while they must begin the home stretch to complete the fifth and final year of the course.

Port-au-Prince on December 16, 2024: This scholarship program, launched in 2020, has raised a lot of hope among hundreds of students eager to continue their studies. But for these 70 students at GOC University, that hope turned into anguish. Deprived of the financial means to pay their final year's fees, they have been prohibited from entering the classroom since last October.

“We worked assiduously for four years, we gave everything, at this final stage we are blocked, even the procedures with the FNE and the Coordination of the State University of Haiti (CORPUHA) proved in vain,” confides a disappointed student.

A call to respect the commitment to students

This poignant appeal highlights the challenges of a fragile and limited education system. The difficulties faced by many Haitian students are a compelling example.

He recalls the importance of respecting commitments to young people wishing to complete their study cycle.

Investment in education is always forward-looking. The funds allocated, the sacrifices made will never be lost.
