A 15-year-old boy has been charged after killing a girl of the same age. Wanting to steal his phone, he killed him with “several stab wounds.”
A 15-year-old teenager was indicted this Monday, December 16, for violent robbery leading to death after the death of a teenage girl whom he admitted to having stabbed to steal her cell phone, according to the Limoges public prosecutor's office.
Inès, 15, was absent on Friday around 6:30 p.m. from her home in Isle, in Haute-Vienne, saying she had “documents to collect for an internship” that she was doing.
Her family reported her disappearance to the police two hours later, her sister reporting exchanges, over the past few days, between Inès and a SnapChat profile, identified the next day and questioned by investigators.
The suspect is unknown to the police
“She explained that around 6 p.m., Inès had pretended to have to be absent to collect documents related to an internship she was doing, and that she had gone to an appointment near her home, around 6:30 p.m.”, detailed Émilie Abrantes, public prosecutor of Limoges.
Unknown to the police and justice services, the teenager initially denied the facts before admitting “to having intended to steal his cell phone”.
To do this, he “pretended to want to give her a gift from a friend”, in this case a jewelry box, to arrange an appointment with her, explained the public prosecutor in Limoges.
“He explained that he knew her because he had already chatted with her on the bus that they sometimes took together,” continued Émilie Abrantes during a press conference.
Friday evening, they walked towards a wood, where the victim struggled when the suspect tried to steal his phone. “He confirmed that the latter had struggled, that she had contacted her sister by telephone to call for help, and that in a panic, he had grabbed the telephone and stabbed her several times with a knife. afraid that his cries will raise the alarm,” detailed the Limoges public prosecutor.
The body of the victim, who “was not undressed” and had around “forty” wounds, was found on the boy's instructions, as were the young girl's jewelry box and telephone. An autopsy will take place this Tuesday and a psychological unit has been set up for Inès' relatives.
