Club América made history winning their third consecutive Liga MX title, drawing 1-1 against Monterrey in the second leg of the final and winning 3-2 on aggregate.

América played like a true champion, being the better team for most of the two matches. In the second leg, the team looked comfortable away, controlling the game and opening the score in the 24th minute thanks to a magnificent goal from Richard Sánchez.

Subsequently, América focused on solid defense, and for much of the match, Monterrey failed to endanger Luis Malagón’s goal. It wasn’t until the 85th minute that Johan Rojas brought Monterrey close, but it wasn’t enough and América were once again crowned Mexican champions.
