The weeks follow one another and are often similar for Sint-Truiden. The Canaries played quite well again against Anderlecht, and certainly deserved better.
It makes a nice leg Happy Mazzù. This Sunday, his players generally dominated the match against Sporting Anderlecht, especially after the expulsion of Mathias “Zanka” Jorgensen. At the end of the match, the numbers were largely in favor of the Canaries.
Except the number that counts, namely… the score. STVV did not find the net once. “I repeat what I have to say after each match: we play the game, we create the chances… but the difference is that Anderlecht puts theirs in the back”, cursed Mazzù at the microphone of Sporza after the meeting.
“My team shot 25 times on goal, but we gave the opponent the second goal. The team deserves better given the commitment shown,” regrets the Canaries coach. “But it’s true that at the moment, unfortunately, we’re struggling to score.”
Things would probably have been a little different with Adriano Bertaccini on the pitch. Trudonnaire’s top scorer was suspended. “Of course we missed him, he scored 10 goals. But if I talk about chances, I can’t just talk about my attackers. We have to keep our composure in the box, and right now we let’s not succeed”, concludes Felice Mazzù.
Sint-Truiden remains concerned by the race to remain after this defeat, and is three points behind Charleroi, the first team outside the red zone.
