This Monday, December 16, 2024, Julien Courbet will host the show Call for Witnesses on M6. Three new cases will be handled by the host's experts, including that of Denise Le Pohon and the death of Slymane Lerouge.
On August 1, 2023, firefighters were called to a fire in Caudebec-lès-Elbeuf in Normandy. Four people were evacuated from this burning building.
But one resident is missing: Slymane Lerouge, 25, is nowhere to be found. A few hours later, his lifeless body was found. If the accidental track is initially favored, eight months later the conclusions fall
: the fire is of criminal origin.
What happened to Slymane Lerouge?
In fact, the fire was allegedly started in trash cans placed in the lobby of the building. But more than a year after the events, the investigation has stalled. No one knows what really happened that summer night. For Slymane Lerouge's mother, the wait is torture.
For her part, she conducted an investigation herself. And she discovered that witnesses mentioned a loud party, organized at a neighbor’s house. An argument and threats were allegedly made. One of the neighbors also disappeared after the fire. Another avenue is also mentioned: love revenge.
The show Call for Witnesses looks into this affair
Indeed, it seems that a former companion in a relationship with the young man would have expressed his joy at learning that Slymane Lerouge was dead. During a white march organized after the tragedy, colleagues of the young man spoke.
“If I had to say he was great, that wouldn’t be enough”confides Fatah, 44, who worked alongside Slymane at work.
“He was loved by everyone. Always helpful, proud to work for Elbeuf transport”. “He had a big heart,” he continues. Someone very mature for his age, with lots of projects and dreams. Also a football fan.” In Call for Witnesses, Julien Courbet and his teams will try to help this grieving family who is looking for answers to their many questions.
