Goalkeeper Yehvann Diouf (25 years old), former French international in the youth categories, announced his intention to represent Senegal. A decision which marks a turning point in the career of this key player at Stade de Reims, author of excellent performances in Ligue 1 in recent seasons.
A native of Montreuil-sous-Bois, France, Diouf has emerged as one of the best goalkeepers in the French championship. An indisputable starter for three seasons at Stade de Reims, he has established himself through his decisive saves and his consistency. During his last match against AS Monaco (0-0), he once again demonstrated his talent by allowing his team to stand up to one of the leaders of the championship.

In the mixed zone after this match, Diouf confirmed that he had started discussions with Pape Thiaw, the coach of the Lions of Téranga. “I met Pape Thiaw, we spoke, he told me that he wanted to select me,” he declared on the microphone of journalist Pape Seck. With these words, the goalkeeper leaves little doubt about his choice to defend the colors of Senegal, his country of origin, after having represented France in the youth categories until 2019.
This decision could prove crucial for the Lions of Téranga, who are looking to strengthen their squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
