In September 2022, this ambulance intervenes in a residential area of ​​the village of Stary Saltiv, in the Kharkiv region. The ambulance team of doctors is at the bedside of an injured man in a basement when an explosion rings out. A shell exploded nearby, peppering the vehicle with shrapnel. Destroyed by the Russian army, this white Citroën with red stripes was spotted and repatriated by a Luxembourg association. The vehicle will then become a symbol of the war in Ukraine and be used to launch a fundraising campaign to finance the purchase and delivery of emergency vehicles to help the Ukrainian population. Since the launch of this campaign in 2023, 72 vehicles have already been sent to Ukraine.

From Landerneau to Plougastel-Daoulas…

It is therefore in Finistère that this ambulance will be exhibited for four days. The Landerneau market will thus be the first to welcome the impressive vehicle, displayed on a mobile platform, Tuesday December 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. before it joins and the Esplanade de la Fraternité, near the Capucins workshops. , from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, December 18, the ambulance will then be presented in Guipavas, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., then at the Plougastel-Daoulas market, Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Thursday afternoon, head to the square in front of the Notre-Dame de Kerbonne church, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., before the charity concert by the national ensemble of Ukrainian bandourists.

Already €45,000 raised

Finally, on Friday December 20, the ambulance will be exhibited during the markets of Lesneven (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Plabennec (2 p.m. to 8 p.m.) before returning to Brest for a very last day, Saturday December 21, at the Parc -to-Chains.

This “Ambulance strafed – ” project, testimony to the atrocities of the war in Ukraine, was set up thanks to the collective of 45 Franco-Ukrainian associations in France. In the Brest basin, it is Iroise Ukraine which is at the origin. More than €45,000 has already been raised in the online prize pool. A figure that the organizers hope to see increase further after this week in North Finistère.
